Finding Your Clarity In True Kinship With Animals

Most probably like you, I have used my love for animals as a foundation for supporting them. Over time I discovered what I thought was “the” way to treat animals was actually rooted in the teachings of a society that believes animals are inferior to humans. I realized those conventional teachings resulted in creating a wedge between myself and the animals, between myself and my core value of treating animals with respect.

I was shattered.

And from that shattering, true kinship with animals emerged.

Why am I telling you this? Because it’s my truth.

Practicing true kinship makes me aware that because of conventional societal conditioning, I have been inspired and enabled to disconnect, regroup and reconnect with animals in an authentic and animistic way.

  • I have reconnected with my authentic core value of treating animals with respect
  • I have received more clarity about my relationship with animals — my animal family, domesticated animals, animals in the wild and non-physical animals
  • I have realized I can be in true kinship with animals without leaving an essential core part of myself behind

True kinship with animals can be challenging. Returning to our innate relationship with animals re-connects us to our own agency, responsibility and accountability. And let’s face it, there have not been many role models or mentors to help us along this path, showing us how to show up with and for animals in their agency while being in our own full agency.

True kinship with animals can be scary. It’s not a quick fix, it’s not a one and done thing, there are no promises.

So why have I committed my life to this work?

  • it has reunited me with my core values
  • it removes the egocentric belief of humans being the most important entity and therefore have power over animals
  • it recognizes each animal has their own agency and can connect with me as/if they see fit

Here’s an invitation for you to join me on this path. I don’t have ‘the’ answers as each answer is unique to you and your relationship with animals.

What I do have:

  • real life experience to be your guide while witnessing with integrity, honesty, compassion and empathy
  • the inquisitiveness that supports you to deeper exploration and curiousness as you are discovering yourself in your emerging journey towards true kinship
  • the skills and training to witness and guide as you learn to bridge the space between animals and yourself so you are able to better understand each others’ wants and needs
  • the ability to considerately hold space as you and the animals work through establishing your authentic relationship

I am always open to share my wisdom, experience and expertise with those who are ready to deepen their relationship with animals, whether in animal communication sessions or mentoring sessions designed to help you identify your internalized narratives and guiding principles with animals. If this resonates with you, you will find more information here.
